A cop named DCP Rudra is transferred to a new police station. As the city is riddled with crime and corruption, he decides to bring law and order back for which he has to go against Nagori Subramaniam the local mafia. He does not believe in the system of going by the book and instead fights fire with fire.The movie was rumoured to be called Thanedaar - Part 2, referring to a previous hit movie of Sanjay Dutt did during his younger days. However Dutt did not feel comfortable with the movie backing on the success of Thanedaar, considering the fact that the story was not written keeping in mind the original Thanedaar. Furthermore the directors and producers of the original Thanedaar were different. Subsequently Sanjay Dutt suggested to brainstorm for another name. He suggested Policegiri and the unit was happy to call this movie Policegiri. Policegiri was actually not a word in use but something Sanjay Dutt created.[1].......

Rajpal Yadav only has a screen time of 5 minutes & he totally pulls itoff. His humor and the climax made me laugh my stomach out. And talkingabout the action, let's just say Singham is remade with slightlydifferent cast & town setup.
The movie is pointless in the base when we do have similar story linesall over the Indian cinema industry. Sanjay Dutt looks old although hisstyle statement is still appreciable. The dialogs truly act for themovie but they make you laugh, as well. Prakash Raj reprises hisSingham role without any vindictiveness. Prachi Desai is a doll as isany actress in a Bollywood action film. Songs are worthless & inducelaughs. Taking a potshot on other famous Bollywood films, actors &dialogs is what the writers have done here. Editing is bizarre.
Overall, a failed attempt. Towards the climax, the SFX & stunts by thecharacters will make you laugh like you're watching some comedy circus.Cars drive by their own, sunglasses defy gravity, bullets destroydaggers and what-not. A 3.0/10 for this experience.
BOTTOM LINE: A very promising movie, though which will attract peoplewho like baseless action comedies that do not make sense at all.
Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES

A remake of the 2003 Tamil film Saamy, 'Policegiri' is VintageEntertainment. It rests on the tried & tested formula of action filmsof yore. It offers nothing new in terms of storytelling, but its stillfun to watch, as it stays true to the genre & delivers exactly what itpromises: Time-Pass Entertainment.
'Policegiri' Synopsis: A tough cop comes to a new village to clean thedirt, but faces a mighty opposition in an evil politician.
'Policegiri' is old wine, in a new bottle. Luckily, the film works,because it entertains at most parts. The First-Hour is engaging & veryprogressive. The Second-Hour, however, loses pace & the war between thegood & bad, gets monotonous. Its never boring, but it doesn't engage asmuch as the First-Hour does. The Adapted Screenplay offers plenty ofaction, blood & gore, but lacks sharpness in the Second-Hour. Dialoguewill be loved by the masses. K. S. Ravikumar's Direction isover-the-top. Cinematography & Editing are standard. Music by HimeshReshammiya & Meet Bros Anjjan, is good. Action-Sequences are awesome.
Performance-Wise: Sanjay Dutt is in form. He enacts the tough copeffortlessly. His Fans will love him, once again! Prachi Desai getslimited scope. Prakash Raj is same as he was in Wanted & Singham.There's no novelty as far as his character & performance goes. ManojJoshi is efficient. Rajpal Yadav & Rajat Rawail don't raise manylaughs. Mukesh Tiwari, Murli Sharma & Raju Mawani are perfect. Om Puriis adequate.
On the whole, 'Policegiri' will work strictly for those who lovevintage masala films.

this film is the last film of Sanjay Dutt released before he went tojail. i am not gonna discuss that matter but i will say hes finishedmore movies and those films are on hold like this it will release whenmakers want to.
Policegiri 2013 is about a cop Rudra who is transfered to a new city &sees all the corruption & mess made by one man Nagori,Rudra falls inlove with Sehar but Rudra himself is not a nice guy he is a bad cop whotakes bribes but does whats right for law and justice,how Rudrafinishes Nagori off and put an end to his terror spree is you have tosee yourself.
there is nothing much to discuss about here plot,direction,& dialogsall are same is Dabbang and Singham type films.i am a huge Sanjay Duttfan was exited to see this but this was disappointing,the cast hasSanjay Dutt,Prachi Desai,& Prakash raj is one guy who plays a villainin every-movie he is the next Gulshan groover of Bollywood.
however soundtrack of this film got me hooked as Jhoom Barabar & TiratMeri Tu are great songs to listen.
overall this story of a lawless cop & flawless thug only survivesbecause of Sanjay Dutt he really acts in a bad movie and makes itgreat.fans of Dutt should have came out and supported this film ifSalmon Khan films are hit why not Sanjay.
